  • Goshikinuma Halloween Hike

    On Sunday, October 30, 2022, we did our third annual Halloween Hike at Goshikinuma. It was peak season with the red leaves contrasting with the different shades of blue.

    We took a stroll around the lakes in the crispy autumn air. Even though it drizzle a bit that did not stop us from marching on. We walked the trail while wearing some simple costumes. There were a lot of people dressing as psychopath. Spooky I know right?

    Each person got a goodie bag filled with chocolate and candy to feel the Halloween spirit! Thank you for every boil and ghoul, wizard and witch, monster and monster maker for coming!

  • Inawashiro Soba Workshop

    On the weekend of October 22 and 23, we held a soba workshop at Inawashiro Town Community Center. Our teacher, Hiromu Sensei, thought us once again on how to make soba from scratch.

    We enjoyed going step by step making soba from a fine powder, using our cat hands, making the dough and cutting into noddle pieces. The hardest part was making the noodles as thin as possible, and some piece where udon thick size. But it was still delicious

    We ate together, tasting our hard work. we took home a lot of soba too. The next few days we be full of soba meals.

  • Ouchi Juku Tour

    On October 15 2022 we had tour around Minami Aizu to enjoy the fall leaves and the crispy autumn weather.

    First stop was Te No Hetsuri, a bridge with a lovely view of the leaves, reflection in the blue water and a suspension bridge.

    Second stop was Ouchi Juku, a traditional Japanese village. We enjoyed around the village and looking at very house. For lunch we ate their famous soba using green onions.

    Third stop we head to a closed elementary school. The ginko tree was not yellow yet but we enjoyed exploring the classrooms and playing teacher on the weekend.

    The finale stop was Enzoji Temple. We explored around the temple ground and saw a beautiful view of Yanaizu.

    It was a great day and a magical way to start the fall season!

  • Azuma Kofuji Hike

    On October 02, 2022 we hiked Azuma Kofuji. The weather was perfect as it was nice and sunny with a gentle wind.

    First we walked around Kofuji, a volcanic crater, for a warm up. The view was wonderful as we could see Fukushima city and Nihonmatsu City. The rocks were a little slippery but we made it around in one piece.

    After, we hiked Mt. Issaikyo. It was getting hot and we were all cover in sweat after doing the incline. But we made it to the top where we saw the stunning view of the Witch`s Eye. We settle down and ate lunch here.

    After lunch, we headed back down but this time going around the pond and walked on the peatlands. We had an amazing time!

  • Oze National Park Tour

    On September 10 and 11 we hosted our first overnight trip since covid. We were all excited to explore National Oze Park because for a lot of us it is a far place to go. But were hereto explore every inch of Fukushima!

    On Saturday, we did pick up from Fukushima, Koriyama and Aizu Station. Then we arrived at Himeomata Village were we did kabuki make up experience. We painted our faces in traditional Kabuki make up. Then did a photoshoot.

    We stayed over at a ryokan where we could enjoy local cuisine, tempura salamander. The moon was fully out in its glory and we sat in the onsen staring at its beauty. And of course we played an intense game of spoons.

    On Sunday, we walked around Oze National Park. We had two tour guides to show us around the trail and educate us on the park. We even could cross over to Gunma for a hot minute.

    This was a great trip with even better company.

  • Fukushima City Somen and Peach

    On July 30, 2022 FuJET hosted two events in one. It was a 放題 kinda day.

    First, FuJET went to a nagashi somen restaurant. We tired our hands with grabbing somen as it flows down the water. And we could not miss a shot of catching a rolling cherry tomato.

    After we head to an orchard to eat Fukushima famous peaches. It was 30 minutes of picking and eating nice juicy peaches. We even got Pokemon fans and peach flavor ice cream.

    Today was an all you can kinda day.

  • Lake Inawashiro SUP

    On July 23, 2022 FuJET hosted SUP at Lake Inawashiro. Even it started with rocky water the day cleared up. We had a blast just relaxing in the lake. We had a BBQ as well and ate some delicious BBQ and Yakisoba!

  • Mt. Bandai Hike

    On July 2nd, 2022 FuJET hosted the second hike of the season on Mt. Bandai. We met up at 9:30 AM and made our way up 80% of the way from the bottom to the pre-summit. We took a short break with a snack to refuel and a natural spring had life replenishing ice cold water to level everyone up for the last bit of the hike.

    The top of the mountain provided amazing views and a refreshing breeze on the hot July Saturday. Afterwards we carefully made our way down the mountain with very careful instructions to go LEFT at every fork in the road. It was a great time for everyone and a fun challenge.

  • Lake Inawashiro Leavers` Party

    On June 18 2022, FuJET hosted a lake clean up and BBQ party at Lake Inawashiro. We first gave back by picking up trash on the shore of the lake. Then we celebrated with the leavers with a BBQ party!

    We had fun games like a jankan train, drawing telephone, and of course watermelon smashing. We made new friends as well. Some enjoyed a nice cool dip in the lake. We saw an amazing sunset and set fireworks at night.

    It was a party to remember!

  • Mt. Adatara Hike

    On June 04, 2022 FuJET hosted the first hike of the season on Mt. Adatara. We met up at 10 AM and hiked from the bottom, to half way to the hut, then to the top of the crater. Then head down to the ropeway.

    For many of the people it was their first hike on a mountain. And everyone did great. We did not give up and we continued to push through.

  • Samegawa Makizushi Cooking Class

    On May 29, 2022 FuJET hosted a cooking class in Samegawa. Little Cafe hosted and taught us how to make Makizushi. One pattern is a floral one. Another is of a Oni`s face. It was difficult but really fun for us.

    In the morning we did a tour our Samegawa mura. We hiked a mountain, walked along a river, ate lunch at a farmer`s market, and saw a lot of waterfalls.

  • Futaba Exploration

    On May 14, 2022 FuJET explored the area where The Great East Earthquake and Tsunami hit back in 2011.

    We did the rapeseed maze in Minami Soma.

    We played at the new Pokemon playground in Namie.

    We went to the The Great East Earthquake and Tsunami Memorial Museum.

    We walked around Futaba Art District.

    We had an amazing time!

  • Saturday 4th December - Night at Round One

    Hello Fukushima of old and new,

    FuJET is going to host a games night at Koriyama Round 1 on Saturday December 04, 2021 starting at 6 PM. We will go up and use the SpoCha section of Round 1. There are many activities we can do in the SpoCha from basketball, table tennis, trampolining, to roller blading.

    If sports is not your thing there are also karaoke booths, a manga/ resting room and some arcade games.

  • November 13th 2021 — Nihonmatsu Koyo Picnic

    Hello everyone,

    FuJET is happy to announce our November event, a koyo picnic (autumn colours picnic). It will be held in Nihonmatsu Castle on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 10 AM. Please come by and hang out with us surrounded by the beautiful leaves. Get to know some new and old faces. And we can play some fun games that might've been inspired by a Netflix favorite.

    For corona control we have hand sanitizer at the event. We ask all participants to wear their masks at all times. Please bring your own drinks and lunch. Also please bring your own mat or chair to sit on.

  • October 14th 2021 — Goshikinuma Halloween Hike

    Hello my fellow ghouls and witches and every monster in between.

    FuJET is happy to host the 2nd annual Halloween Hike at Goshikinuma on Sunday October 24, 2021 at 9:30 AM. Come walk with us through the beautiful koyo and see the bright blue water of Goshikinuma — while in your best Halloween costumes. We know Halloween is on Sunday the 31st, but to see the peak fall leaves at Goshikinuma we've moved it up a week. Two Halloweens in one year! A wonderful treat, right? We'll be holding a costume contest to see who has the best look. So come and dress to impress!

    What this is: A nice easy hike around Goshikinuma to see koyo in our costumes (costumes not compulsory but recommended!)

    Where: At Goshikinuma.

    If you need transport, it can be arranged.

    When: October 24, 2021, meet at 9:30 AM

    What to bring: Please bring water, a towel, proper footwear, and of course the Halloween spirit!

  • August 28th 2021 — Mt. Issaikyo Hike

    Hello Fukushima people,

    FuJET is happy to announce the August hike to Mt. Issaikyo to see the Witch’s Eye lake.

    When: 9:30 am

    Where: Jododaira visitor center

    The hike will be about 1-2 hours depending on our pace. Please bring lots of water, snacks, and lunch. Please wear appropriate clothing, footwear and sunscreen.

  • 17th July 2021 — Bandai hike

    Hello everyone,

    This Saturday, FuJET is hosting a hike at Bandai-san starting at 9:30AM. Please join us as we hike from the bottom to the top. We will meet at the Happodai trailhead and have lunch at the top overlooking Lake Inawashiro, and descending will take about 2 hours.

    Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Please bring a lot of water as it might be a hot day.

  • July 10th 2021 ⁠— SUP Leavers Party

    Hello Leavers and Stayers alike,

    This year FuJET will host a Leavers Party on July 10, 2021 on Nakadama beach at Lake Inawashiro from 9:30 AM to 5 PM. You can participate in Stand-Up Paddling Boarding with the cost of 5,000 yen.

    The cost of the 5,000 yen will be for renting a board, paddles and lifejacket (fits all sizes). There are up to 10 boards that could be used. If there are more than 10 people we will split the time equally. At minimum we will make sure everyone has two hours on the board. If there are less than 10 people, we'll cut the time short. If you come but don’t want to participate in the event, the event will be free.

  • June 20th 2021 ⁠— Mt. Adatara Hike

    Hello everyone,

    On Saturday June 19 FuJET is hosting a hike of Mt. Adatara at 9:30 AM. We will meet at Adatara Ropeway at 9:30. We will hike the trail up the top. It is about a two hour hike. Please bring lots of water, snacks, and lunch as we will eat at the top! I also recommend wearing full cover comfortable clothing, sunblock, and good shoes. The hike is good for beginners and a good introduction to the hiking season. After having lunch we can go down through the trail, or ride down the ropeway for a cost. We can decide once we are there.
