This page compiles a wealth of resources that can be used by all ALTs, at any level and in any place! If you’re a first time teacher or simply looking for a quick class starter, these websites can help you find useful activities and information for teaching in Japan.

Altopedia
This website is an independent, ALT run compliation of resources submitted by ALTs across Japan. The most useful feature is filtering, where you can search not only by education level, but grammar points, themes, level of preparation needed and more. From full-length presentations and classes on Anglophone culture, to uploaded textbooks, to quick mini-games to start a class, this website has new content posted weekly.
ENGHub
This is a free-to use website with English activities sorted by CEFR Level (A1-C1.) They are professionally made resources, particuarly useful for conversation or speaking activities. Please note there are paid activities under ‘ENGHub Pro’, but also many free resources available. These usually require minimal prep too.
Twinkl (Subscription Required)
This website features a range of lesson plans, flashcards and activities in a simple and consistent style. You are required to pay for a subscription, but sometimes there are free activities or special days with free-to-download resources, so keep an eye out for these. This is particularly good for ES level.
iSL Collective
This is a hub of ESL materials submitted by teachers around the world, with free for lesson plans, worksheets and activities on a range of topics.
