Bamboo holds an important place in Japanese culture, from its fresh and crisp bamboo shoots in spring to its lush forests in summer that are famous the world over. In Fukushima, it also holds an important place as the star of our Bamboo Lantern Making event!

Come join us at Ioji Temple in Fukushima City to create your very own unique bamboo lantern! Not only will you get to visit a historic temple right next to Iizaka Onsen, but you’ll also be able to take your lantern home with you!

You don’t need any experience with crafts, so everyone is welcome!

It’s ¥2000 per person, and an extra ¥300 if you’d like to include the lantern light. Check out the designs here!
